Automata is a senior software studio based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. We are deliberately small: you work directly with the engineers responsible for your product, from first conversation to operation.

Tri Nguyen
Tri founded Automata to prove a simple thesis: a small team of senior engineers, working directly with clients and owning outcomes, delivers better software than a large team managed from a distance.
His background spans production mobile applications, AI-enabled business systems, and language engineering — including open-source work in the Xtext ecosystem (ia-toolset and BahnDSL, both public) and academic research in domain-specific language design and model-driven engineering. He leads every engagement personally: the person you talk with is the person responsible for the work.

How we use AI
AI leverage, human accountability.
AI-assisted workflows support our research, architecture, implementation, testing, documentation, and operations. The benefit clients experience is better execution, faster iteration, and a smaller delivery structure.
What does not change: every client deliverable ships under senior human review and technical ownership. We do not sell AI agents or automation infrastructure, and we do not ask you to trust a model with your product. You trust us — and we use every tool available to deserve that trust.
Beyond mobile and AI-enabled software, Automata maintains an advanced niche in DSL and language engineering — open-source tools and research that hold us to a higher standard of precision.
Automata are systems built to operate on their own. The name is a standard we hold our software to: it should keep working — monitored, maintained, and improved — long after launch day.
